Waking up to the Cali Sun!!!

Yesterday was my First full day here in the lovely and sunny California!!! I woke up and had breakfast over at Safari West with my uncle where he introduced me to more of the staff!! I was able to meet with Kimberly who is the lady that has been able to set up this internship with me! We went over what I will be helping with and how my week will be scheduled out!! Learning more of what I will be able to do gets me more and more excited!! As we were talking I couldn't help but be distracted by the cutest little baby flamingo chirping in the background, they are soooo tiny and extremely soft!! I want to take one home with me and snuggle it!!! After talking with Kimberly I helped out in the bird kitchen where the workers were preparing all the food bowls for the birds! Wanting to help in any way I could I cleaned the bowls out (yes mom I did dishes... please don't expect that when I get home). Although it wasn't the most glamorous task I was happy to help and I was able to get to know some great people who I cant wait to work more with!! Soon enough it was time for lunch and I headed back to my uncles house, I made a lunch and then took a little nap..... Life here is pretty hard haha. The rest of the night I relaxed and talked on the phone catching up others on what I have been up to! That reminds me!! if anyone would like to talk, Facebook me and I can figure out when we can call or if the WiFi is working we can Skype!!!! Bye Bye Oregon!!

Wednesday I waved goodbye to Oregon and welcomed the California sun!!!! I flew into Santa Rosa and will be staying here for three weeks, for an internship at Safari West ( a link to the website will be in the comments) After doing some grocery shopping my uncle and I headed to my his house, I settled in and then we headed over to safari west!!!! He Showed me the different animals and to my surprise they have lots of little baby animals!! There are two different monkey baby's two baby flamingos, two giraffes, and many more!!! I became more familiar with  the area and was introduced to some of the staff!!! When we got back to his house we had a yummy dinner and watched a little tv. The best part of the night was being able to head up into my room and get ready for bed!! At night I am able to leave my balcony door open and the sounds I heard were amazing!!! It was like listening to a sound machine in high definition!! The sounds of crickets chirping away filled my room and the calls of all kinds of birds wishing me sweet dreams eased me to sleep!! The night sky is sooo clear and if I stretch my head just a bit off my bed I can see millions of twinkling stars!!! Nights are relaxing and it reminds me why I want to become a zoologist! My first night was great and I cant wait to have many more these next couple weeks!!!!

Hello Wonderful Readers

My first blog post!!! I wasn't sure how else to start this post but to just come out and announce that this is in fact the first one on my blog!! So naturally I wanted to let you all know why I am starting this blog, the first reason is so that my family and friends can have a place to see what I am up to while I am away from home ( that way my mom doesn't text me a million times asking for pictures of ever single thing I see) The second reason is to document all the adventures I encounter as I step out into this big world (such as college, trips and the opportunity's I am given) my third and final reason is simply to put my story out there and to be known by whoever stumbles across this blog!! I Guess I should also tell you a little about myself, I am 18 and I just graduated from high school, I desire to travel all over the world and to venture the unknown, I am in love with places I have never been and am always looking for an opportunity to try something new!!! I am passionate about animals and plan to study zoology in college!!! I think that is enough background on me for now, so its time to share what I have planned to share on this blog. I will be posting pictures, post, and videos randomly as I start a new chapter in my life! Going off to College ( especially in a different state) forces me to become more independent, it also means I am able to start living the life I want to live spending time doing things that fascinate me, this is not strictly a travel blog but a blog for me to share everything I will face in these next few years to come where I can finally find out who I want to be and what I want to do!!!!
